Ex Libris

I whittled this Ex Libris yesterday so that I can put a big fat stamp in all the books that belong to ME (or that i consider to be mine). I guess it could be printed on bits of paper and then glued into the book in traditional fashion as well. The Ex Libris depicts a praying mantis standing on the base-unit of a graphite crystal, and above, my initials in cyrillic.

  1. Very nice work here. Since you guys are definitely experts when it comes to woodworking and carving I'm wondering what your thoughts would be on this ceramic sharpener from DMT? From what I hear their products are industry-leading so I figured I'd reach out to gauge your thoughts on the DMT brand.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. It is a shame that the club has ended for the bleeding thumb community. It seems that you have made quite an art collection over the years and have contributed much to the woodcarving society. I enjoyed the art from the blog and has given me some very good, concrete ideas on what I should carve for my next project. Although I am just a beginner I have started wood carving with my grandpa and I find it a soothing time to be able to just sit and carve some wood together. I think the name fits well because I have certainly had my thumb bleed from whittling a block of wood.
